Our Heritage, Our Future

CZLWVA upholds and promotes the values, principles, and ideals of Zimbabwe's liberation struggle, which culminated in the independence of the Republic of Zimbabwe in 1980. We recognise that the liberation struggle was fought to achieve national sovereignty, political independence, social justice, economic emancipation, and the restoration of dignity to the people of Zimbabwe.

We are committed to preserving this heritage through educational programmes on liberation history, promoting cultural and historical awareness among members and communities, honouring the sacrifices made by liberation war veterans and their families, and organising commemorative events and national heritage activities.

Stories from the Heart

Hear from children of liberation war veterans whose lives have been transformed through our programs.

“My father fought in the liberation struggle so that his children could have opportunities he never had. Through CZLWVA, I received the education support that allowed me to become a doctor. Today, I serve the same communities my father helped liberate. This is what our parents fought for - not just freedom, but the chance for their children to build the Zimbabwe they dreamed of.”

Dr. Chipo M. Medical Doctor

“CZLWVA gave me the opportunity to pursue my university education when my family couldn't afford it. Today, I'm a qualified engineer contributing to Zimbabwe's infrastructure development.”

Eng Talent C Civil Engineer

“Through the skills development program, I learned entrepreneurship and now run a successful business that employs 20 people in my community. The association changed my life.”

Ms Chipo S. Enterpreneur

“Being part of CZLWVA connected me with like-minded young people who share the vision of a prosperous Zimbabwe. Together, we're making a difference in our communities.”
